Carlisle Physician Lincoln Pinsky, M.D. is honored as 2014 Community Clinician of the Year for Middlesex North District Medical Society
Waltham – April 8 – Lowell physician and Carlisle resident Lincoln N. Pinsky, M.D. has been honored by his physician peers of the Middlesex North District Medical Society as the district’s 2014 Community Clinician of the Year, an award recognizing his professionalism and contributions as a physician. The award will be presented at the district’s annual meeting April 30 at the Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro.
Prior to his retirement in 2012, Dr. Pinsky practiced internal medicine and cardiology in the Merrimack Valley for nearly four decades. During that time he held a number of positions at Lowell General Hospital, among them Chief of Cardiology, Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit, Chief of Medicine, Chairman of the Critical Care Committee, and President of the Medical Staff. He also served as president of Hillcrest Cardiology from 1990-1998 and president of Riverside Primary Care Specialists from 1994 to 2012.
In nominating him for the honor, his colleagues recognized Dr. Pinsky “for his leadership and commitment to building a quality medical environment in Greater Lowell.”

Dr. Pinsky was a founding member of the Greater Lowell Independent Physicians Association and served as its president from 1987-1995. He was also active in the Northeast Massachusetts Division of the American Heart Association, serving as its Vice President, President-Elect, and President from 1982-1988 and as a member of the Board of Directors from 1978-1992.
He has held academic appointments as Tufts University Medical School, Boston University, the University of Lowell School of Nursing, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Dr. Pinsky has been a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society since 1976. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, he was designated a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology in 1975.
The Community Clinician of the Year Award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the Society’s 20 district medical societies who has made significant contributions to his or her patients and the community and who stands out as a leading caregiver. The Middlesex North District is comprised of nearly 250 physicians who live and work in 11 communities in the Lowell area.
The Massachusetts Medical Society, with more than 24,000 physicians and student members, is dedicated to educating and advocating for the patients and physicians of Massachusetts.
