Visit the Concord Free Public Library's gallery to view the Concord Young Writers Award (CYWA) exhibit of student writing and art, now through December 31. Concord's mindful wellness non-profit, Be Well Be Here, created the CYWA in collaboration with Concord-Carlisle High School (CCHS) to encourage aspiring young writers and create inclusive teen leadership roles through the power of storytelling.
In its inaugural year, the CYWA Club at CCHS created and conducted an anonymous submission process, and sent selected student manuscripts to the 2021 judges, celebrated YA authors Jennifer De Leon and Desmond Hall. The CYWA online ceremony with students, parents, advisors and judges took place as part of the Concord Festival of Authors (CFA) in October. The CYWA Club members worked diligently to share this artful exhibit of student work with the Concord community to inspire the storyteller in us all!
