Concord First Responders To Honor Emerson Hospital Staff

Concord police and fire departments have set up a drive-by event and included several other neighboring first responders.

CONCORD, MA — Concord first responders have a special event planned to show their appreciation for Emerson Hospital staff. Concord police and firefighters have set up a drive-by event for Friday to say thank you to the front-line workers at the hospital.

The drive-by show of appreciation will include first responders from Acton, Lincoln, Bedford, Sudbury, Littleton, Maynard, Boxborough, Massachusetts State Police and the Department of Corrections.

First responder agencies will be staging at Papa Razzi, 768 Elm St., before beginning the rally at 1 p.m. The timing of the rally is designed to coincide with the presence of multiple hospital shifts, ensuring as many care providers and administrators as possible have a chance to see the display of appreciation.

“We thought there was no more appropriate way to celebrate National Nurses Week than to set aside time to show our appreciation for all healthcare providers who are confronting COVID-19 head-on,” said Concord Police Lt. Kevin Monahan, who has led the effort to organize the drive-by. “We’re all excited to show our support for the work doctors, nurses and all providers are doing every day, especially now during the pandemic.”
