Annual Concord Japanese Summer Festival
The Festival features Japanese food including Teriyaki Beef, Teriyaki Chicken,
Tempura, Sushi, Udon, Gyoza, shaved ice, and baked goods.
There are games for children. Entertainment includes Judo and Kendo demonstrations, Taiko drum
performances by four different Taiko groups, a Bonsai display, calligraphy, an Ikenobo (Japanese flower arrangement)
demonstration, a Koto performance, and Japanese classical and folk dancing.
Admission is free, and free parking is available at Ygnacio Valley High School at 755 Oak Grove Road in Walnut Creek with a free shuttle to the Festival.
