Concord Man in Nepal Survives Earthquake

Peter Walters, a graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School, was in the country hiking.

A Concord man in Nepal survived a huge earthquake Saturday that killed at least 5,000 people.

Peter Walters, 26, was alive found in the country’s Tsum Valley, according to his employer,. San Francisco, Calif.-based 2 Degrees Food. He was in Nepal hiking with a group.

The epicenter of the magnitude-7.8 quake was in the Gorkha district, about 50 miles south of where Walters was found.

Walters grew up in Concord an graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School. His company sells nutrition bars and purchases meals for needy children.
