Concord Police Log: Fired Nursing Home Employee Goes Off, OUI Crash, Fireworks on Strawberry Hill Road

Wed., Aug. 20

  • 11:33 a.m. A woman on Hubbard Street reported she lost her black-and-white cat about a month ago.
  • 3:49 p.m. Staff at Kindred Nursing Home called police after a worker who was fired for “erratic behavior” swore and made obscene gestures on her way out.
  • 3:59 p.m. A caller said a young man in a black Jeep was speeding on Musterfield Road.
  • 4:28 p.m. A woman from East Hempstead, N.H. was charged with operating without a license and a vehicle equipment violation.
  • 4:44 p.m. A man on Musterfield Road said he was the target of a U.S. Treasury scam.
  • 11:37 p.m. A caller reported a red Porsche was driving erratically near the Maynard line. A Concord police officer made contact with the driver, who said he was trying to avoid potholes.

Thur., Aug. 21

  • 2:22 a.m. Sidney Shapiro, 33, of Acton, was charged with OUI and a lane violation after he crashed on Barretts Mill Road.
  • 4:30 p.m. A woman said she was the victim of a hit-and-run crash.
  • 8:32 p.m. William Freeman, of Fitchburg, was charged with operating a vehicle under suspension, having an unregistered vehicle, having an uninsured vehicle, and concealing a license plate.
  • 9:31 p.m. Fireworks were reported on Dalton Road.
  • 11:46 p.m. A loud party was reported on Strawberry Hill Road.
