Concord Police Log: Owl Struck by Vehicle; Concord-Carlisle Students Ticketed; 'Burglar' Turns Out to Be Husband

The following are excerpts from the Concord police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Mon., Jan. 5

  • 9:41 a.m. Police issued parking tickets to several vehicles parked illegally on Laurel Street. The reporting party said the vehicles belonged to Concord-Carlisle High School students.
  • 4:12 p.m. A caller who wanted to remain anonymous said vehicles were “making their own parking spaces” at Ace Hardware on Sudbury Road.

Tue., Jan. 6

  • 1:31 p.m. A caller on Elsinore Street reported a stolen bicycle.
  • 2:16 p.m. A caller reported an owl was struck by a vehicle on Elm Street. The animal survived and was transported to Tufts Animal Hospital.

Wed., Jan. 7

  • 11:55 a.m. A loose black lab was found on Lowell Road. Police were able to locate its owner from its tags.
  • 12:30 p.m. Minor injuries were reported in a crash on Main Street.
  • 2:08 p.m. A stolen check was reported on Center Village Drive.
  • 5:53 p.m. A woman said her dog ran away while she was taking it for a walk on Park Lane.
  • 7:53 p.m. A woman on Indian Spring Road called police and said a burglar might be in her house. Police arrived and determined it was just her husband who returned from running an errand.
