Concord Propane Leak Forces Evacuations, Detours

A large propane tank was leaking near the Umbrella Arts Community Center.

CONCORD, MA — Homes were evacuated Wednesday afternoon due to a a leak in a large propane tank near the Umbrella Arts Community Center.

Residents have since been allowed back to their homes. The evacuations were precautionary, according to reports.

No injuries were reported.

The leak was caused by a piece of construction equipment hitting the tank, according to reports.

There were heavy traffic detours in the area of Stow and Hubbard streets, police said.
