Concord Spring Water Main Flushing to Continue Monday

CONCORD, MA—Concord's spring water main flushing is set to continue Monday through May 4, according to the town's website.

The town has announced that flushing will will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Flushing is done in the spring and fall because of lower water demands and to avoid cold weather.

Flushing allows for hydrants to be periodically used and identified for maintenance or replacement and provides an opportunity for tests to be done to determine if water flow and pressure are sufficient, according to the town's website.

The process enhances water quality and allows iron and manganese build-ups to work their way out of the systems.

May 2-3:

Monument St., Great Meadows Rd., Monument Farm Rd., Silver Hill Rd., Liberty St., Estabrook Rd.

May 3-4:

Lowell Rd., Farmer’s Cliff Rd., Lindsay Pond Rd., Westford Rd., Middlesex School, Bartkus Farm
