Concord Student Named National Merit Scholar
A Concord student was named as a National Merit Scholar Thursday.

CONCORD, MA—Concord-Carlisle High School is full of brilliant students, but two students in particular have been named as National Merit Scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation Thursday.
According to the foundation that awards the grants, the students are those “judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.”
Cindy H. Shi was named as Concord's National Merit Scholar. Shi has not decided on a probable career field.

Recipients are chosen by a committee of college admission officers and high school counselors. The winners are granted a $2,500 scholarship.
The number of winners in Massachusetts- as in each state - is proportional to the state’s percentage of the nation’s graduating high school seniors.
