Concord's Robert Stout: Korean War Vet, Missile Builder, Dies at 81
Stout served aboard the USS Saint Francis River during the Korean War from 1951-1953.

Robert D. Stout, 81 of Concord, died peacefully in his home on August 14th 2014, surrounded by his loving family, Robert was the beloved husband of Ingrid Stout. Born in Winterset Iowa on August 30, 1932, he was the son of the late Vernon and Wilma Stout.
After graduating high school Mr. Stout enlisted in the Navy, first attending electronics school at Treasure Island in San Francisco. He served proudly aboard the USS Saint Francis River during the Korean War from 1951-1953.

Upon returning home from Korea, he attended San Diego State University, and began his career working in the aerospace industry Mr. Stout was part of the team responsible for building the Atlas Missile at Convair Astronautics. He was also involved in the early test launches at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California and Cape Canaveral in Florida.
Soon after, he moved to Lexington Massachusetts where he met his wife of 53 years Ingrid.

Later he began his own company R. D. Stout Associates to provide consulting and sales for many startup companies in the computer industry from 1975 to his retirement Over these years he was joined in the business by all three of his sons.
His hobbies and interests included; cheering on his beloved Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox; reading, technology, and playing board and card games with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Ingrid, his sons Robert and his wife Karen, Steven and his wife Kristin and Brian, and his wife Sandra, as well as his eleven grandchildren.
A service for family and close friends will be held in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
