Happy Birthday, Betty!
Shizue Sano, piano faculty at the Longy School of Music, presented an all Franz Liszt (1811 - 1886) program in celebration of his centennial and Newbury Court resident Betty Roberts' birthday.
The program included Liebestraume No.3, Mephisto Waltz, Nuages gris, Concert Paraphrase of Waltz from Faust by Gounod, and other works. Betty Roberts was Chairperson of the Piano Department at the Longy School.
Betty played an annual concert on her birthday in February for many years; for three years faculty and students from the Longy School of Music have continued this tradition with Betty as the guest of honor.
