Dublin, May 9 – The National Children’s Research Centre in Dublin, Ireland today will honor Dick Connolly, Managing Director and Wealth Advisor at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Boston, as one of four individuals who have championed the cause of sick children in Ireland.
“Over the past 30 years, Dick Connolly has raised over $4 million, which has significantly enabled the vital work at the National Children’s Research Centre,” said Joe Quinsey, chief executive officer of the Children’s Medical & Research Foundation. “We cannot thank Dick enough for his incredible support, dedication and loyalty to the cause of sick children, and we wanted his efforts to be recognized in a tangible, sustainable way.”
Dick Connolly has hosted the Annual Children’s Medical & Research Foundation, Inc. Golf Tournament since its beginning in 1982. In 2012, the microscopy center at Our Lady Children’s Hospital Crumlin was officially named the “Richard Connolly Microscopy Centre” in honor of his philanthropic efforts.

The Children’s Medical & Research Foundation is the principal fundraising body for Our Lady’s Children's Hospital Crumlin as well as the National Children’s Research Centre, and is dedicated to working to improve the quality of life for this and future generations of sick children.
Today’s award ceremony was the first time the National Children’s Research Centre has specifically honored the outstanding contribution by international supporters who have championed the cause of sick children in Ireland in both the U.S. and the U.K. Connolly was honored alongside Charlie McCabe of New York, and Dermot Smurfit and Crohan O’Shea of the United Kingdom.
