Dr. Ronald Mayville and the Molasses Tank Collapse of 1919

Talk at the Concord Free Public Library

CONCORD – Dr. Ronald Mayville will give a talk at the Concord Free Public Library on the Molasses Tank Failure of 1919. The talk will take place at the Main Library, 129 Main Street, on Tuesday, April 23 at 7 PM.

Dr. Mayville, a Senior Principal at the structural engineering firm of Simpson, Gumpertz & Heger, has spent many years looking into what caused the failure of the molasses tank that created one of the worst disasters in Boston history. Dr. Mayville will share his explanation of why the tank failed, and the lessons as a result of this disaster.
