Learn more about your neighbors, the Deer on Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Gleason Public Library. White-tailed deer populations are increasing rapidly throughout much of the East. This talk, presented by Thomas Rawinski, U.S. Forest Service Botanist, will focus on the ecological impacts of white-tailed deer in forests, and explore the human dimensions of this challenging management issue. Thomas J. Rawinski, is the Botanist with the U. S. Forest Service in Durham, NH. Tom received an M. S. in wildlife science from Cornell University. He has worked as an ecologist for the Massachusetts Audubon Society, the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the Nature Conservancy. This program is supported by the Carlisle Land Stewardship Committee and the Susan Zielinski Natural Science Fund, Gleason Public Library.
