Tai Chi Workshop

Concord resident and Tai Chi master Tai-Chun Pan will present a Tai Chi workshop to all those who would like to learn more about this ancient martial art.

Tai-Chun Pan, a software engineer, began studying Tai Chi in his early teens. He has been teaching Tai Chi in the Greater Boston Area since 1980.

As a founder of The Harmony Tai Chi Center, Tai-Chun has steadily encouraged the development of this martial art through his dedicated students. Many of his students are currently instructors at various organizations throughout the Greater Boston Area.

Tai-Chun teaches the complete Yang Style Tai Chi, also known as the "old Style Yang Tai Chi," passed down by Grand Master Hsiung Yang Ho, through Masters David Cheng and Chen Hsiao Yin.

This set of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan contains the Tai Chi Basic form, Push Hands, Dalu, San Shou (the rarely-found Tai Chi Free Hand), Tai Chi Basic Sword, Matching Sword, Tai Chi Basic Saber, Matching Saber, Tai Chi Basic Staff, and Matching Staff.

In this one and a half hour workshop, Mr. Pan will talk about the history, different styles, principles, benefits of Tai Chi, show video clips, then together with everyone, do warm up exercises, Qigong movements, and some Tai Chi movements.
