Farm Benefit for Emerson Pediatrics
Verrill Farm teams up with Emerson Hospital for day on the farm for families.

For the fourth year, Verrill Farm's popular annual Harvest Festival is a fund raiser for the Pediatric Care Unit at Emerson Hospital. Fields surrounding the farm stand will be transformed into an old fashioned fair ground with games, activities, entertainment, a raffle and food for all ages to enjoy. The event is Saturday, Oct. 16, noon - 4 pm, rain or shine. For information, call 978.369.4494 or visit www.verrillfarm.com.
Proceeds from the Harvest Festival go toward providing coping kits which are given to all children entering Emerson Hospital by the Pediatric Care Unit.
"Over 14,500 kits have been given out since being introduced in November of 2005," says Kay Leibmann, pediatric nurse at Emerson Hospital and volunteer organizer of the event, "and we are very grateful to Verrill Farm for supporting this important initiative again this year." The kits are age and gender specific and designed to help both children and parents manage and cope successfully with the hospital experience.
The benefit event is a collaboration between Emerson Hospital and Verrill Farm staffs and volunteers. Between 600 and 800 people are expected at the Festival which includes:
