Get ready for a ghoulish adventure at the Concord Museum. On Saturday, October 25 join us for a coffin-making demonstration from 11 am – 3 pm. Join craftsman Mason Mc Brien from the Center for Furniture Craftmanship in Rockport, ME for an afternoon of coffin- building. Watch him use traditional tools tools to build a simple wooden coffin much like the historic one from Hancock, NH in Behind Closed Doors: Asleep in New England, open through March 24, 2015. McBrien will display a finished coffin and discuss the traditional building methods that he uses and the new popularity of this style of coffin for a “Green Burial.”
