J. Geils Band Guitarist Arrested for Drunk Driving in Concord: Reports

The band's founding member allegedly rear-ended a car in Concord Tuesday afternoon.

CONCORD, MA — A founding member of the J. Geils Band faces charges of drunk driving after allegedly rear-ending a car in Concord, according to multiple reports

John Warren Geils, 70, of Groton was charged with operating under the influence and failing to stop at a stop sign. The Boston Globe reports that the charge would be his second offense, and that Geils hit a Nissan sedan on Elm Street at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

No one was hurt during the incident.

Geils' attorney told the Boston Globe that his client intends to "vigorously defend himself against these allegations."
