CONCORD, MA — A man working on the side of the road was killed when he was struck by a commercial truck, authorities said. The utility pickup truck was backing up when it struck the man at the intersection of Independence Road and Alcott Road around 12:22 p.m., according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Concord Chief of Police Joseph O'Connor. The driver of the truck stayed on sceneThe victim was brought to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No charges have been filed.The crash is being investigated.
