CONCORD – Marla Welsford will perform a one-woman show entitled Lydia at the Concord Free Public Library on Wednesday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. The event will take place in the Periodical Room of the Main Library at 129 Main Street.

Lydia is a 45-minute play based on the life of Lidian Jackson Emerson, the second wife of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Based on extensive research of her letters and multiple biographies, it charts Lidian’s activism, growth and emotional trials from youth to age 61. It is curated, written and performed by Marla Welsford and directed by Paula Plum.
