Maynard Man Charged for 5th OUI, With Nearly No Tire

The man drove nearly one mile with almost no tire.

MAYNARD, MA—Maynard Police have arrested a 74-year-old Maynard Man for his fifth OUI charge.

Police arrested Joseph Lynsky, 74 of Maynard after discovering him driving on the rim of his vehicle, and later discovering that he was under the influence. Lynsky was charged with his fifth operating a vehicle under the influence charge, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and operating with a defective tire.

"The actions of this individual were extremely reckless as he put his own life and the lives of all other motorists and pedestrians in danger," Chief Mark Dubois said in a statement. "Thanks to the swift action of residents and the quick response by police, this man was taken into custody without incident."

Lynsky was arraigned on the charges in Concord District Court Monday morning.
