A disabled train on the Fitchburg/South Acton line Tuesday caused delays. The MBTA said service will run on a normal schedule Wednesday.

Commuter rail service resumed as usual Tuesday afternoon after a train broke down in Concord, causing “severe” delays.
The MBTA said Train 454 had a mechanical problem on the Fitchburg/South Acton line and became disabled. Part of the tracks were also damaged. By 4:55 p.m., the MBTA said service was resuming as usual. It said the line would operate on a normal schedule Wednesday.
Four trains out of Littleton and one out of Acton scheduled for Tuesday afternoon were canceled. Buses provided service instead.
