Thomas Marsh Porter age 89 of Concord passed away on Sunday, May 25. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Blackall Porter
Tom grew up in Brookline and spent many summers at Lake Sunapee, NH. He attended Belmont Hill School and Yale University. Upon graduating from Yale he was commissioned to the Naval Reserve and served 3 years.
He was VP of Engineering at the family business, H.K. Porter, Inc. of Somerville until it was sold in 1986. Tom was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed building and fixing things for family and friends all his life.

He also enjoyed many sports and was very proud of watching his 3 grandchildren grow up. A resident of Concord for over 60 years Tom loved the town.
Survivors include his loving children, Terry Porter of Orono, Maine, Judith Porter-Muller and husband Robert of Harpswell, Maine and David Porter and wife Lynn of Westwood. His cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Muller, Megan Porter and Kelly Porter as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Henry K. Porter, Alan K. Porter and Polly Porter.

Family and friends will gather to honor, remember and celebrate Tom’s life on Monday, August 4 at 11:00 am in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 54 Walden St., Concord. Interment Sleepy Hollow Cemetery private.

Concord’s town flag will fly at half-staff on Monday, August 4th in recognition of Mr. Porter’s service to his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
