Opening of 2017 Honored Citizen Nominations

Concord's annual Honored Citizen Nominations are officially open until Feb. 1, 2017

The Concord Public Ceremonies and Celebrations Committee would like to announce the opening of nominations for Concord’s 2017 Honored Citizen.

For over fifty years, the Town of Concord has annually honored a Concord resident(s) as Honored Citizen for contributing substantial volunteer services to the community. During the year of honor, the citizen is asked to join the Patriots Day Parade and participate in the town’s celebrations and ceremonies. He/she receives a personalized gift presented annually to each Honored Citizen. In addition, the individual’s name is added to the plaque located in the Town House.

Nominations will be open until Wednesday, February 1, 2017 and should be addressed to: Concord Public Ceremonies and Celebrations Committee, Town House, P.O. Box 535, Concord, MA 01742. You may also submit your nomination electronically to cpccc@concordma.gov. Nomination forms are available at the Town House or online at www.concordma.gov

The members of the Committee must rely heavily upon the information supplied with the nomination forms. A simple statement of nomination is of little value. Nominations may be made for either an individual, or a couple. A complete biography should be supplied with reasons why the nominee should be selected. Please include information regarding the nominee’s career and community service. The emphasis will be placed on volunteer service, and the biography should explain this in considerable detail. Selections are made based upon the quality, rather than the quantity of nominations that are received. Petitions are not acceptable.

We hope that these suggestions will enable a nominator’s choice to receive the best possible consideration and recognition to which the nominee deserves. If you have any further questions, please e-mail the Committee at cpccc@concordma.gov.
