Paintings by Lowell Artist Meredith Fife Day on Display at Emerson Medical at Sudbury

The paintings of Meredith Fife Day are on display through October 31 at Emerson Medical at Sudbury, located at 490 Boston Post Road (Route 20 in Chiswick Park).

Day, who works out of her studio in Lowell, is a lifelong painter who has exhibited her work for more than three decades as far away as France. A painting professor at Middlesex Community College, she volunteered and served as artist-in-residence at the Whistler House Museum of Art from 2003 to 2013.

The recipient of a Blanche E. Colman Award, Day has been awarded multiple artist-in-residence fellowships and her paintings have been selected for numerous invitational shows and national competitions. In addition, she is an advocate, consultant and volunteer for children’s educational programs in the visual arts. Under her direction, Making Art with Artists – a new grant-funded program which provides free art lessons to deserving youth – is being launched this summer.

Day earned an MFA degree from Boston University after receiving BA and MFA degrees from Louisiana State University in her native Baton Rouge. She is a member of the Lowell Art Association, Arts League of Lowell and Concord Art Association.
