We seek an energetic, creative, experienced individual to join our team as the Program Manager at The Nature Connection. A strong desire to work for a nonprofit and concern for our mission are critical. The successful candidate needs to be an excellent communicator; highly organized and intrinsically motivated; strong attention to detail; able to support and communicate with diverse volunteers via email and via phone, and effectively match individuals with organization’s needs. Strong computer skills (Excel, basic data entry, etc.) required.
The Program Manager reports to Executive Director and works closely with two part-time Program Coordinators. Your job will be to recruit and train new Nature Connection volunteers for our growing programming; manage volunteer scheduling; serve as key liaison for both new and current program partner sites; oversee best practices for programming; orchestrate professional development for volunteers and program staff; and lead trainings for both professionals and volunteers.
The Nature Connection brings unique educational and therapeutic nature programs, including live animals, to people with limited access to the natural world. Our travelling programs take place indoors: at special needs schools, psychiatric treatment centers, elder facilities, and urban after-school programs.

Hours and Availability: This is a part-time position, averaging 7-10 hours per week over multiple weekdays. The time range reflects some “busy” seasons for volunteer recruiting and trainings. Periodic weeknight and weekend hours required for special events. Starting Pay: $17/ hour.
