Local golfers head to prestigious events, enjoy summer sports camp, Concord helps out sister city.
A pair of local golfers spent this week in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., competing in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships.
Maddy Vergura, 10, of Concord and Ryan Harris of Carlisle, a rising senior at Concord-Carlisle High School were entered in the field with some of the world's best junior golfers. Vergura teed off on July 24 and Harris followed on Thursday.
Also this week, Star Camps sports camps held the third of its four week-long sessions at CCHS. Now in its 28th year, Star Camps offers children of all ages and abilities to play and learn the sports they love.
