Back by popular demand, Concord Center for the Visual Arts is pleased to be hosting another storytelling night, an evening of "true stories told live" Wednesday, November 6 at 7:30 pm in the Main Gallery at Concord Art. While storytelling is entertainment, it is so much more. It is an art form as old as humanity. It is the primary way that we relate to each other to create kinship and community. Humanity’s earliest stories were about survival, hope, loss, love, and courage. Today’s stories echo the same themes. This non-competitive storytelling event is a fundraising event for Concord Center for the Visual Arts. Fugitive Stories of Acton will help to bring together eight featured storytellers, each to tell true tales inspired by the theme of the evening, "Observation & Imagination.” Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 At the Door, 37 Lexington Road, Concord, Art. Go to www.concordart.org for more information.

Concord Art and Fugitive Stories of Acton teamed up again to bring together eight featured storytellers, each to tell true tales inspired by the theme of the evening, “Observation & Imagination," held in conjunction with the current art Exhibition of the same name. Invited to tell their stories are artists Rose Leitner, Janet Amphlett, Alexandra Sheldon, and Carol O'Malia. Fugitive Stories has invited four more storytellers who have captivated audiences before — they are some of the best storytellers in the country. Some are Moth StorySLAM winners and many are GrandSLAM champions. Hearing a true story in a live performance is fun, moving and transformative.

This fall, Concord Art is focused on “Obeservation & Imagination" and theme shared with the current art exhibit on view now in their Main Gallery. The exhibit curator is Clifford S. Ackley, the Ruth and Carl J. Shapiro Curator of Prints and Drawings at the MFA, Boston, and on view from October 24 - November 20, 2019. The exhibit features 15 artists form the Boston region and features Works on Paper. Storytelling night, an evening of "true stories told live" is Wednesday, November 6 at 7:30 pm will also be in the Main Gallery at Concord Art. With more than 850 members, Concord Art is one of the oldest art organizations in the country and is a focal point for exhibitions, art education and community programming. Concord Art is located at 37 Lexington Avenue, Concord, MA. Hours for viewing are Tuesday–Saturday, 10 am – 4:30pm and Sunday 12pm – 4pm.
