Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord welcomes new Choir members

Rehearsals on Thursday for Junior, Youth and Adult Choirs

Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street in Concord, welcomes new members to its parish choirs in September. No matter what your age, there is a choir for you that rehearses in the spacious choir room under the direction of Robert Barney, Trinity's organist/music director.

The Junior Choir rehearses from 4 to 5 pm on Thursday afternoons and is our training group for the youngest singers, ages 8 to 10. No previous experience required and the group explores the Book of Common Prayer, the Hymnal 1982, our liturgy and music and singing skills in the context of the Royal School of Church Music program.

Trinity's Youth Choir is for ages 11 to 16, and rehearses on Thursdays from 5:15 to 6:15 pm, building on previous musical experience following the RSCM program. This choir sings at our 10 am service on the first Sunday of the month, as well as for special services at Christmas and Holy Week. The Youth Choir also sings the service of Choral Evensong in December and June.

The Parish Choir is for high school students and adults who find their service to the church in the special ministry of music. The Parish Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 pm and sings at every 10 am Sunday service, as well as special services throughout the year including Choral Evensong in November, March, and May. On September 30, the Trinity Parish Choir will be joined by the choirs of three other Episcopal parishes in the MetroWest area: St. Anne's (Episcopal, Lincoln), St. Elizabeth's (Sudbury) and Church of the Good Shepherd (Acton) for a special Choral Evensong. All Trinity choirs participate in our Service of Lessons and Carols in Epiphany.

Rehearsals are on Thursdays in the Choir Room and continue weekly. For further information, please call Trinity's music director, Robert Barney, at 978-369-3715 ext 20. Trinity Episcopal Church is fully handicap-accessible.
