Twenty Classic Christmas Movies and Why They Are Good for You

A Talk by Randall Warniers

CONCORD – Join Randall Warniers for a talk on Twenty Classic Christmas Movies and Why They Are Good for You! The talk will take place at the Fowler Branch of the Concord Free Public Library (1322 Main Street) on Monday, December 2 at 7:00 PM.

Christmas movies are a wonderful part of the holiday season. We all have our favorites, and we look forward to seeing them year after year. This talk and slide presentation will discuss twenty important Christmas movies, many of them popular and well known, and many of them surprise discoveries. The films will include American film classics made in the studio era, early television animations, and selected films from England, France, Mexico, Sweden, and Finland. They all have the same purpose—giving a measure of joy, inspiration, humor, delight, and Christmas spirit to holiday viewers. We won’t watch any of the films during the talk, but all are available on DVD, and every attendee will receive a list of the twenty selected films (plus other good examples) for future reference and viewing.

Randall Warniers has pursued interests in 19th-century British literature and early 20th-century American cinema for decades. He has worked in the world of publishing since 1989, and he is currently a freelance editor and book publisher.
