WATCH: Steve Carell Shouts Out Emerson Hospital Staff
Carell cited his special connection to the hospital and thanked staffers for their work on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
CONCORD, MA — Emerson Hospital staff received a star-studded thank you from acton Steve Carell. The funny man sent the staff a video on Wednesday to thank them for their work on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
Carell, a Massachusetts native, said he considers himself an alumni of the hospital since he was born in Emerson Hospital and grew up in nearby Acton. "I was voted cutest baby of 1962," Carell said in his video.
He adds that the staff have a special place in his heart since his mother worked as a nurse at Emerson for over 30 years.

"Emerson and I go way, way, way back so I know the place well and I have great memories of being incredibly sick there," Carell jokes.
Emerson Hospital President and CEO Christine Schuster told Patch she was thankful for Carell's message.

"We are very grateful to Steve Carell for bringing joy to our staff with his genuine message of support. His special ties to Emerson are particularly meaningful. Steve will always be a member of the Emerson Family," Schuster said.
