Bystander Pulls Woman from Frigid Walden Pond

The woman was reportedly fully clothed. It was immediately unclear how she got into the water.

A bystander rescued a woman from Walden Pond Wednesday.

Initial reports said the woman was “in distress” and became unconscious at one point. The Boston Globe reported she’s expected to survive.

It was immediately unclear how the woman ended up in the water. Temperatures were just below freezing most of the day Wednesday. She was fully clothed, authorities said.

The Globe reported a man was walking in the area and after seeing the woman in the pond jumped in the frigid waters and pulled her to safety.
