THE WILD DIVINE

The Deborah Abel Dance Company presents THE WILD DIVINE, an evening of modern dance with live music performed by the music emsemble Sweet Rasa. The Wild Divine, created and choreographed by Artistic Director Deborah Abel, is a mystical, emotional and spiritual journey to the true aliveness and beauty that lives inside all of us. The “Wild Divine” includes a collaboration with a projection specialist from the MIT Media Lab's Opera of the Future- Alisha Panjwani. She will create special effects to enhance and add magical touches to the portrayal of the choreography. The original musical score will be conducted by Lee Perlman, resident composer, lead singer and instrumentalist. This new work premiers March 17 and 18 at the Tsai Performance Center at Boston University.

The Deborah Abel Dance Company which is based in Carlisle has been performing in the Boston area for over thirty years and has toured internationally as well. With 10 dancers and 8 musicians, the company performs original works choreographed by artistic director Deborah Abel in the genre Bhaki Modern. Through a perspective that is a meld of western psychology and eastern intentionality, the dances explore the possibility of personal wholeness, and of evolving relationships. Each concert is conceived as a whole, creating a universe into which the audience is invited to enter.
