Danvers, MA -- The 5th Annual Lynda J. Talbot Memorial Walk/Run will take place Sunday, October 4 at 10am at Great Oak School. Over the past four years, the event has raised over $100,000.
“Last year’s event was attended by more than 500 runners and walkers and we were successful in raising enough funds to support many incredible causes,” said Stacy (Talbot) Bazylinski. “In the months following the race, donations were made to Care Dimensions Pediatric Hospice Facility and the Beth Israel Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fund. Additionally, scholarships were awarded to two well deserving Danvers High School seniors and we were even able to provide financial assistance to several local families battling cancer.”
Bazylinski was 12 and Julie (Talbot) Donnelly was 10 when their mom Lynda J. Talbot of Danvers was first diagnosed with breast cancer. Twenty three years after the first diagnosis, they lost their mom to cancer and have organized the annual walk / run in her name.

“We are so thankful to all the people who have turned out for this event year after year,” said Donnelly. “Local businesses such as Kiki Pilates Studio, Danvers Fresh Marketplace, Nine Elm, Kaffmandu Coffee House, Hartnett Auto Body and Car Wash, C.R. Lyons & Sons, DJ Kevin Wood and many others have helped us year after year. We couldn’t do this without the help of so many people and we are beyond grateful.”
The Talbot sisters, their family and Lynda’s husband, Bruce, are organizing the race along with Kristen Clark, Dena Chase, Kathy Gardner, Dani Baldassare, Kristen Cullen, Keri Demers, Allison Eaton, Jani Wilichoski, Lauren Burke, Natasha Coyne, Jennifer Chase and Michelle Dustin.
