2 Danvers Challengers Capture Select Board Seats

Michael Bean and Dutrochet Djoko unseated two incumbents to win seats in the Danvers Annual Town Election.

DANVERS, MA — There will be two new faces on the Danvers Select Board after Michael Bean and Dutrochet Djoko unseated a pair of incumbents in the annual town election on Tuesday.

Bean was the top vote-getter in the four-person race for two seats with 2,202 votes, with Djoko second with 2,171 votes in unofficial results. Incumbent Gardner Trask was third with 1,799 votes and incumbent Matthew Duggan was third with 1,090 votes.

Sean Doherty and Michael Shannon were both elected to the School Committee in an uncontested election after Alice Campbell and Robin Doherty opted not to run for re-election after one three-year term.

The other contested election was for the three spots on the Library Board of Trustees where the three incumbents were victorious. Jessica Cargile was the top vote-getter with 1,891 votes, with Dana Hagan second at 1,847 and Donna Hopkins third at 1,793.

Patricia Fraizer was re-elected as town moderator, while Carol King was re-elected to the Housing Authority.
