8th Annual Lynda J. Talbot Memorial Walk/Run
Sunday, September 23 at 10am at Great Oak School

Danvers, MA -- The 8th Annual Lynda J. Talbot Memorial Walk/Run will take place Sunday, September 23 at 10am at Great Oak School. Over the past seven years, the event has raised over $170,000.
“The money raised from the annual Lynda J. Talbot Memorial Walk/Run has allowed us to provide financial assistance to several local families battling cancer,” said Stacy (Talbot) Bazylinski. “Over the past year we have helped an additional 12 families/individuals who are struggling with cancer. Last year’s event was attended by more than 500 runners and walkers and we were once again very successful in raising enough funds to support many incredible causes along with families.”
In the months following the race, donations were made to local families, the Beth Israel Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fund and others. Additionally, scholarships were awarded to five well deserving Danvers High School seniors.
Bazylinski was 12 and Julie (Talbot) Donnelly was 10 when their mom Lynda J. Talbot of Danvers was first diagnosed with breast cancer. Twenty three years after the first diagnosis, they lost their mom to cancer and then started the annual walk / run in her name.
“We are so thankful to all the people who have turned out for this event year after year,” said Donnelly. “Local businesses such as The Berry Tavern, Danvers Fresh Marketplace, Kaffmandu Coffee House, Miss Nancy Parties and Program, YellowJackets Gymnastics Club and so many others are helping us out again this year. We couldn’t do this without the help of so many people and we are beyond grateful.”
The Talbot sisters, their family and Lynda’s husband, Bruce, are organizing the race along with Kristen Clark, Dena Chase, Dani Baldassare, Kristen Cullen, Keri Demers, Allison Eaton, Kathy Gardner, Jani Wilichoski, Lauren Burke, Natasha Coyne, Jennifer Chase and Michelle Dustin.
