DANVERS, MA — Danvers police will increase patrols downtown and enforce laws involving motorized bicycles amid ongoing concerns about "youths operating e-bikes in an unsafe and disruptive manner."
Police said the unruly behavior "remains a priority for the police department."
"In response, officers have increased patrols and directed enforcement at known locations where these issues are occurring," police said, "while continuing proactive engagement with riders to address concerns before situations escalate."
Danvers reported 22 calls related to "youth complaints" in its monthly activity report released on Thursday.
"Our goal remains to keep the downtown area safe and welcoming for residents, businesses, and visitors," police said. "We appreciate the community's continued support and encourage residents to report ongoing concerns so they can be addressed appropriately."
