DANVERS, MA — A switch failure while crews were working to untangle wires downed from a car crash Monday morning knocked out power to more than 2,000 Danvers residents.

Danvers Electric said that because of the nature of the damage caused during the crash near the intersection of Conant Street, Burley Street and State Road, the power was restored to some customers before others, as crews isolated and repaired different sections of the system.
