Gov. Healey Appoints 2 New North Shore Community College Trustees

DANVERS, MA — Gov. Maura Healey announced two new North Shore Community College appointments to its Board of Trustees: Charles Anastos, vice president of operational excellence at Harmonic Drive, and Renato (Ron) Mastrogiovanni, founder and CEO of HealthView Services.

NSCC President William Heineman said the two men bring backgrounds tied to the college's mission.

"We are grateful that Charlie and Ron have agreed to serve on the Board of Trustees," he said. "Their backgrounds and leadership experience are aligned with NSCC's goals of serving our students and communities through education, opportunity, and workforce development.

The NSCC Board of Trustees has 11 members, all appointed by the Massachusetts governor. The board also includes one trustee elected by the NSCC Alumni Association and a student trustee elected by the student body through the Student Government Association.

This year's student trustee, Stacy Duggan, is a member of the health studies program.

Anastos has a long connection to the college. He began his career as a machinist after completing the machine operator's training program at NSCC. He later worked at Osram Sylvania, where he moved from senior process engineer to principal engineer of robotics, before joining Harmonic Drive as senior manufacturing engineer in 2001.

After serving as a production manager and vice president of operations, Anastos was named vice president of operational excellence in 2022.

The school said he champions employee development and Lean manufacturing principles, and works with agencies across the Commonwealth to support workforce development. He also serves on the board for the North Shore MassHire Workforce Board and on several manufacturing and training advisory groups.

Mastrogiovanni brings more than 30 years of experience in financial services, healthcare cost planning and information technology, according to the college. He co-founded FundQuest in 1990, a provider of wealth management solutions for financial institutions, and later started HealthView Services after FundQuest was acquired.

NSCC said Mastrogiovanni expanded HealthView through retirement planning applications focused on healthcare costs, while also broadening its data offerings and securing patent protections. He was also appointed by the governor to the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission, where he served for about 10 years. The independent state agency develops and reviews policies aimed at reducing health care cost growth and improving the quality of patient care.
