DANVERS, MA — Veterans, members of the military and first responders are invited to attend for free the North Shore Chamber's sixth annual Salute to Veterans breakfast scheduled for Nov. 6 at Danversport.
Registration and breakfast begin at 7:15 a.m., and the program will run from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
The North Shore Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the breakfast along with Valor Sponsor Wellpoint and Eagle Sponsors O'Donnell Funeral Services and Johnson & Johnson.
Tickets are $85 for the general public and $65 for Chamber members.
The program will include presentation of the Minuteman Service Award, which recognizes dedication and support of military and veteran communities.
This year's honoree is Kurt Fieldhouse, a U.S. Army veteran and founder of C2MG Builders, which is headquartered in Topsfield. Fieldhouse has contributed time and expertise through C2MG to Home Base, helping veterans and military families and creating employment opportunities for fellow veterans.
The keynote speaker will be Mike "Boots" Barker, a U.S. Navy SEAL who served for more than 21 years. Barker became a Tier One Operator and completed multiple combat deployments, including Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, as well as classified missions around the world.
He is scheduled to speak about his military service and career.
The Chamber said the event is meant as a celebration of patriotism, service and the nation's military and veterans' communities. Free admission for veterans and others in the invited groups is being made possible through support from North Shore Chamber member businesses.
