DANVERS, MA — Danvers residents with unused or expired medications will have a chance to dispose of them safely this weekend during Drug Take Back Day at the Danvers Police Department.
The collection event is scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police department on Ash Street.
The takeback is for old or expired medications that have been sitting in home medicine cabinets and allows for safe, responsible disposal.
The goal is to keep old prescription drugs from being misused by either falling into the wrong hands or ending up in the water supply.
Residents can turn in medications safely and anonymously.
