The Perfect Paws Pet Ministry at All Saints Episcopal Church of the North Shore and Dog BONES Therapy Dogs of MA will host a reading by Ellen Finnie, author of “The Ten Perfections: Spiritual Lessons from a Life with Dogs.” This heartwarming memoir beautifully blends the joy of canine companionship with timeless spiritual lessons.
Ellen Finnie’s memoir takes readers on a deeply personal journey through her years of experiences with beloved dogs who have acted as life’s “teachers.” From tales of morality and patience to wisdom and lovingkindness, Finnie’s reflections will resonate with dog lovers and seekers of spiritual growth alike. Location: All Saints Episcopal Church of the North Shore, Danvers, MA, 46 Cherry Street, Danvers, MA (second red door from the corner). Free on-street parking and building ramps for individuals with mobility needs are available.
Please note, this is a pet-free event. Those who attend are invited to bring a can or bag of pet food to donate to the Danvers People to People Food Pantry.
Program:
Ellen Finnie will present a 30-minute reading from The Ten Perfections, followed by a Q&A session where audience members can engage with the author about her journey and insights. Books will be available for sale, and Finnie will be pleased to autograph them.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available.

About Ellen Finnie
Ellen Finnie, a senior instructor and volunteer for Dog BONES Therapy Dogs of Massachusetts, is a retired librarian who spent her career at MIT and the University of California supporting authors in sharing their research. A certified dog trainer and animal-assisted intervention specialist, she passionately advocates for the human-canine bond and its potential for growth and transformation. Her memoir, "The Ten Perfections," invites readers to explore the wisdom, patience, and unconditional love that dogs embody, offering timeless lessons for navigating life’s challenges. Finnie shares her life with two Golden Retrievers, Gracie and Leo. While Gracie is now retired as a therapy dog, Finnie and Leo actively volunteer at an elementary school as a therapy dog team.
