Boys’ Tennis Swats Malden Catholic

The Falcons boys' tennis team defeated Malden Catholic on Thursday, as the second of two victories victories for Danvers High athletics this week. The baseball club shut out Charlestown on Wednesday at Plains Park.

The Danvers boys eeked by Malden Catholic on Thursday, April 7, for a 3-2 win on the court. Sophomore Gabe Ochonski and freshman Nick Lisichenok played strong singles matches while senior captain Mike DeSantis and junior Jim Grace won first doubles.

The Falcons are scheduled to play Bishop Fenwick in Peabody this afternoon (3:30 p.m.) and then travel to Marblehead April 11 (4 p.m.), play a make-up match with Ipswich April 12 (3:30 p.m.) and then host Peabody April 13 (4 p.m.)

The girls’ club hosts Salem today (4 p.m.), then Marblehead on April 11 (4 p.m.), travels to Peabody April 13 (4 p.m.) and then back to Danvers against Saugus April 15 (4 p.m.)

Boys’ lax handed bruising by Andover

The Danvers’ boys opened their season against the Golden Warriors in Andover on April 5, suffering a bruising loss, 15-3. Andover was up 5-0 in the first and Danvers only scored one goal in each of the next three periods to another 10 from the Golden Warriors. The Falcons’ boys host Swampscott on April 11 (4 p.m.)

Girls’ lacrosse, in the meantime, was postponed on April 5 and scheduled for April 13 instead at Triton. The Lady Falcons take on the Bishop Fenwick Crusaders in Peabody this afternoon (4 p.m.) first, however, and then host Salem High April 12 (4 p.m.) and visit Peabody again to take on the Tanners April 15 (4 p.m.)

Falcons dominate on the diamond

Danvers High dominated on the diamond Wednesday afternoon against Charlestown, , 11-0, for the season opener. The Falcons travel to Saugus on April 13 (4 p.m.) and then host Swampscott April 15 (4 p.m.)

Softball throws out first pitch Wednesday

The Lady Falcons take the diamond against Saugus April 13 (4 p.m.) to start off their season. The girls then travel to Swampscott April 15 (4 p.m.).

Track hits the blocks in Beverly Monday

The outdoor co-ed track squad heads to Beverly April 11 (4 p.m.)
