Calvary Book Club Welcomes Salem Author Brunonia Barry

 Thursday, June 2^nd, at 7:00 p.m. Calvary Book Club will have Brunonia Barry; author of ‘The Lace Reader’ will come to our parlor and discuss her latest book ‘The Map of True Places’.  This book is about a psychotherapist, named Hepzibah Finch, who has come to a serious cross road in her life.  Should she marry?  Should she care for her ailing father? Who is she really?  The city of Salem, Massachusetts is a prominent character in this novel and it is a gripping and mysterious read.

 Brunonia came to the Book Club a couple of months ago and spoke about her first book, ‘The Lace Reader’.  She not only spoke about the plot but about her motivations, where she got her source material, the mechanics of writing this book and her style.  Brunonia spoke a bit about the movie that will be made of ‘The Lace Reader’ and about her time in Hollywood as a screenwriter.  She did this with wit, humility and charm and the evening was a resounding success.
