Clark School Teens Accepted to Ambassador Program

Clark students to tour Europe as People to People ambassadors.

Katlyn O’Brien Donohue of Peabody, Harry Abell of Wilmington and Chuckie Martino of North Reading have been accepted into the People to People program as a U.S. Student Ambassador on the Traditions of Europe trip.  Abell and O’Brien Donohue, juniors and Chuckie a sophomore, at the Clark School in Danvers will be traveling to Ireland, England, Wales and France. This trip’s academic focus is on architecture, arts, conservation, history, language learning, and political science. Students will stay with a host family, meet dignitaries and provide community service for three weeks this summer.

People to People was originally established in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, charged with the mission of personal diplomacy and building peace through understanding. In 1961, the nonprofit People to People International joined forces with Ambassador Groups Inc., a specialized group of travel and educational service providers who would develop and deliver extraordinary programs. A year later, the first People to People Ambassador program launched.

The Clark School has provided a unique and individualized approach to education since it was founded in 1978.  The private school, which offers education from kindergarten through twelfth grade, provides students with the opportunity to shine in areas in which he or she is already well-versed while also developing greater competence and self-reliance in areas that may pose academic challenges.
