Danvers Babe Ruth Wraps Up Regular Season

Another successful season of Danvers Babe Ruth Baseball ends, with playoffs to begin this weekend.

Combining with Peabody made an even more interesting and exciting season.  In both the Prep and Major divisions, Danvers and Peabody will each hold their own playoff rounds to determine which teams will compete for the championships.

In the Danvers Prep division, the final standings were as follows:

• First place:                          Braves  (Mgr. Kevin Turner)
• Second place:                         Phillies  (Mgr. John Rooney)
• Third place:                         Nationals  (Mgr. Michael Rando)
• Fourth place:                          Mets  (Mgr. Peter Reed)

The first found of playoffs begins Saturday, June 16 at Burley Field.

• Braves vs. Mets  at 2:00
• Phillies vs. Nationals at 5:00

In the Danvers Major division, the final standings were as follows:

• First place:                         Angels  (Mgr. Mike McKenna)
• Second place:                         Red Sox  (Mgr. Rich McCannon)
• Third place:                        Athletics  (Mgr. Keith Lucy)
• Fourth place:                        Royals  (Mgr. Bob Powers)
• Fifth place:                         White Sox  (Mgr. James Koen)

The first round of playoffs in the Major division begins this weekend as well.

• Royals vs. White Sox     Saturday, June 16  2:00 at Twi Field
• Red Sox vs. Athletics     Sunday,  June 17   2:00  at Burley Field
• Royals/White Sox vs. Angels  Sunday, June 17  5:00 at  Burley Field
