DHS Softball In State Tournament

The Danvers High School softball team has made the state tournament and will be playing on Thursday 5/31 against Tewksbury at Great Oak 4PM. Led by Coach Tara Petrocelli, the team went 17-3 to win the NEC title and capture the #4 seed in the Division 2 North bracket.

Team captains Sam DiBella, Chrissy Gikas, Julia Saggese and Erica Fleming have all contributed enormously to the success of the team. Freshmen Caitlin McBride and Brittany Dougal have manned the left side of the infield all season and have come up big in their roles. Devyn Downs has escalated her play in the field and at bat all season. Nicole Smith has had an awesome year in left field while Devyn Johnson has excelled as the designated hitter. Kendall Meehan has been solid on the mound for the Falcons with a 15-2 record. Rebecca Hardenstine, Megan Llewellyn, and Casey Nestor have all contributed as pinch runners.
