Donald R. Bumiller, Candidate for Governor's Council 5th District

Donald Bumiller, Democrat Candidate for Governor's Council Fifth District - find out more about the candidate.

My name is Donald Bumiller and I am running for Governor's Council in the Fifth District.  I am asking for your vote on September 6, 2012.  If elected, please allow me to explain what I hope to accomplish.

The Governor's Council gives final approval to the nominations of judges.  On the Council, my priority will be to represent your interests, so that if you go to court your case is heard by an experienced, fair-minded judge, one who can apply the law and who understands that real people will be affected by any decision.  I also recognize that judicial decisions often have an even greater effect beyond the court room, and I believe judges have a larger responsibility to their communities, particularly when it comes to public safety.  I have worked in our courts for over 27 years.  I know what it takes to be a good judge in the different courts.  My opponents don't have that experience, and for this position, EXPERIENCE COUNTS!

The Governor's Council also approves appointments to the Parole Board.  As the father of young children, I believe in no early release for murders and sex offenders.  We need to do what we can to make our streets safer, and reducing parole rates is a good place to start.  I am the only candidate taking a stand on this.

My experience - working in the trenches of the court system, representing ordinary people who deserve justice - makes me the most qualified candidate for this important position.

For these reasons, I ask for your vote in the Democratic Primary on September 6, 2012.  I would appreciate any comments or questions you may have.  You can also visit my website at www.voteforbumiller.com - where a more detailed resume and other information may be found.
