Profoundly Personal Story of International Adoption is Subject of "Let's Talk" This Week
"Let's Talk," a speakers' forum on issues of ethics, conscience and spirituality, presented by Calvary Episcopal Church, Danvers.

The devastation of revolution, murder and bloodshed, political intrigue, and the drama of international adoption are the vivid themes that serve as a background for "Missing Mila, Finding Family: An International Adoption in the Shadow of the Salvadoran Civil War."
the profoundly personal and moving chronicle of how Dr. Margaret Ward and her husband adopted a young boy from an orphanage in Honduras, only to discover, 14 years later, that his birth family was alive and desperately searching for him, is the subject of "Let's Talk," the speakers' forum at in Danvers, on Thursday, June 14, at 7 p.m. in Parish Hall.
Nelson de Witt, the subject of Dr. Ward's book, will join his mother to present an eight-minute preview of his documentary, "Identifying Nelson/Buscando A Roberto" http://www.identifyingnelson.com/, the compelling story of a young man -- one of the hundreds of now-adult victims of the civil war in El Salvador, which lasted from 1980 to 1992 -- who were torn away from their families by soldiers, who sometimes kept them, other times funneled them into the lucrative adoption industry.
The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome!
Light refreshments will be served immediately after the presentation and Dr. Ward will be available to sign books.
